Art Splash - September 13, 2008

Jump into the fun! You will enjoy a day of art events including: the Art Studio Tour, a very cool Iron Pour and a free concert.

Iron Pour

The Zumbrota Area Arts Council (ZAAC) invites you to participate in the ancient art of metal casting. Carve a design in a 15” sand block, and have that design turned into a piece of iron art. People of all ages and skill levels may participate. Carve the sand block on your own, or attend a free workshop before the actual iron pour later that evening. Sand blocks will be available at Crossings in Zumbrota.

Art Studio Tour

During the day prior to the iron pour, a studio art tour called the Zumbro River Art Splash will be held from 10AM to 4 PM. Visit artists in their studios and at other locations in the area. This event is sponsored by ZAAC and Pine Island People for the Arts.

Free Concert

During the evening’s iron pour, you’ll be entertained with a free concert.
